There is no content available error in WebSphere Portal V8 after configuring LDAP security

When you login to the WebSphere Portal V8 after configuring the security with LDAP server, you will get the following error in the browser:

“There is no content available. Please check if there is content defined for the markup of your client device. “

In the SystemOut.log following exception is logged:

EJPSG0015E: Data Backend Problem com.ibm.websphere.wim.exception.WIMSystemException: CWWIM4548E  The LDAP attribute used as an external identifier ‘ibm-entryuuid’ has a null value for entity ‘uid=wpsadmin...


Add the following line in wimconfig.xml located at <wp_profile_root>/config/cells/<cellname>/wim/config.


<config:externalIdAttributes name=”distinguishedName”/>

<config:attributes name=”userPassword” propertyName=”password”>
