Configure Tomcat in linux

1. Extra tomcat directory into particular folder

2. Add following two lines inside /etc/profile file:

JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.6.0_17

export JAVA_HOME

PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH

3. Either restart the server or run the command “source /etc/profile”.

4. Verify the variable defined by typing “echo $JAVA_HOME“. It should show the value.
